It would be pretty cool if we could kick off this blog by announcing the launch of 2013 new products for the year 2013, but unfortunately we can’t go that far!
Still, we’ve got lots of exciting stuff on the 2013 list. What about some delicately carved solid oak cornices/pelmets, to add the perfect decorative flourish to your cabinet run? Or some curved wall units, to maximise on storage space and inject a bit of modern flair? And that’s just for starters… we’ve got curved doors, corbels, mantels, and a great range of sinks and taps on the way too.
So please keep checking our blog for updates this coming year, and keep an eye on the ever-expanding website, too. So many exciting new products… so little time! Watch this space…
Here at Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, we’re declaring a war on snow. Sure, it’s fun to play in, roll in, and even chuck at people (when you’re feeling mischievous): but what about when you’re waiting for a delivery?
Luckily our delivery service is solid as a rock (or should that be oak…?)
Though most of the country is set for a blizzardous 48 hours, our vans were on the roads bright and early this morning, loaded up for a full day of deliveries. Our policy is always to do everything within our power to get to our customers, so if you don’t hear from us, please expect your order to arrive as normal.
Never fear – the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets wagon will be here… with a few frosty flakes clinging to its rear!
Here at Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, we’re big fans of anything natural and organic – particularly in kitchen design. That’s why we specialise in solid wood and promote sustainability: when it comes to kitchen furniture, there’s simply no reason to turn away from the naturally-formed materials of planet Earth. This bounty can be more attractive and durable than any other substance if treated protectively and with sensitivity.
And it looks like the colour experts at Pantone agree: they’ve chosen an organic green – Emerald – as the colour for 2013, espousing its prominence in nature and inspiring vibrance. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, commented: ‘Green is the most abundant hue in nature — the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum.’ Pantone also draws attention to the regenerative richness of green; it’s ‘the color of growth, renewal and prosperity — no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity.’
Emerald can be both fantastically uplifting and soothing in a kitchen: we love it as an accessory, and now the Pantone results are out we are sure there will be plenty of tiles, crockery and gadgets in emerald hues flooding the market. But what about cabinets? Emerald is a bold colour, to be sure, but used in the right way – a statement island, perhaps – can be used to inject some earthy brightness into your cabinetry. Farrow & Ball’s Arsenic is the closest match to Pantone’s Emerald – though for softer, complementary greens, you could also try Cooking Apple Green, Saxon Green, or our favourite, Mizzle.
The team at Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets would like to wish you all the happiest of 2013s. And though the Christmas tree has to come down soon there are still glad tidings to be had: January means sale time!
To kick off the new year in fine style, we’re offering a 10% discount off all orders placed in January. This great saving applies to everything except samples (the cost of which can be redeemed if you go on to place an order).
So go on, get ordering… we won’t tell if you don’t…
