SOLID WOOD KITCHEN CABINETS BLOG

Spotlight on Pre-Assembled Solid Wood Kitchens!

Posted by admin on February 24, 2016 at 12:00 pm. Filed under: General

Here at Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, our goal is to provide high-quality solid wood kitchens at unbeatable prices, without compromising on service. Our combination of competitive costs and expert knowledge is unrivalled by high street retailers, and we continually enhance our range of products and services to maintain our position as the UK’s best-value oak kitchen supplier. For this reason, we introduced a helpful assembly service for our oak cabinets.

This slick service means your oak kitchen can be installed very quickly, and you do not need to worry about having any experience in kitchen construction, saving you time and fuss. Our practiced team are always on hand to pre-assemble base cabinets, wall cabinets and full-height cabinets, without extending the lead time given for your delivery. This service costs only £15 per cabinet, or £20 for cabinets with any combination of doors and drawers. Even better, we can also provide an installation service for any piece of wirework, at just £15 per item (or £10 for pull-out baskets).

If you would like to order cabinets only, our two-man delivery service is available for delivery within 15 days. Our cabinets can also be ordered with wooden frontals; these come sanded, lacquered or painted, and can be delivered within 15 working days.

Once assembled, every one of our cabinets is checked and individually packaged in protective wrapping, helping to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. When preparing to receive delivery, we recommend removing any pictures or mirrors from walls within the intended entry route, as a precautionary measure. Having safely delivered your pre-assembled cabinets, our two-man team will even take the packaging away with them, giving you a hassle-free experience and plenty of time to sit back and admire your superb new cabinets.

Bright and Brilliant ‘Colours of the Month’ for Solid Oak Kitchens

Posted by admin on February 10, 2016 at 1:01 pm. Filed under: General

Rainy weather getting you down? You’ve come to the right place, in that case – because we’re brightening up the greyness of February with an injection of fabulous feel-good colour from Farrow & Ball. Full of depth and charm, our chosen paints are a welcome addition to all solid oak kitchens and will really bring a splash of vibrance to an otherwise drab and drizzly month.

Colours of the month: Blue Ground for solid oak kitchen.
Colours of the month: Citron for solid oak kitchen.
Colours of the month: Pitch Blue for solid oak kitchen.

Farrow & Ball say their punchy ‘Blue Ground’ is conducive to a happy and upbeat atmosphere. This is a blue that never looks cold, and looks brilliant as a feature wall or on wooden cabinetry. Easy on the eye, this shade is vibrant without being vexing. Combined with shades of white, ‘Blue Ground’ looks crisp, fresh and a little Mediterranean.

Fun-loving yellow is up next in our exploration of ‘happy’ shades: a colour that has been proven to brighten moods and boost energy levels. This is never truer than when surrounded by Farrow & Ball’s ‘Citron’, which gives a warm and zesty sense of welcome in any room. For the more adventurous, this colour can be playfully paired with ‘Blue Ground’; alternatively, palettes of grey such as ‘Plummett’ and ‘Pavilion Gray’ complement ‘Citron’ beautifully.

Finally, our third Colour of the Month is ‘Pitch Blue’. Whilst a little more sedate than our first two choices, ‘Pitch Blue’ can be coupled with either shade for a funky colour clash. A hint of magenta adds a warm hue to this paint, and it looks fantastic next to ‘All White’ or ‘Wevet’.

If you are interested in seeing samples of our products in these colours, you can order a painted cabinet door sample on our website. Our miniature replicas of full-size doors are available in sanded and lacquered finishes, or painted in the Farrow & Ball colour of your choice.

Solid Oak Kitchen Cabinets – The Heart of Beautiful Customer Kitchens

Posted by admin on February 3, 2016 at 4:15 pm. Filed under: General

We pride ourselves on the quality of our solid oak cabinets, and – as we have a passion for supplying high-end kitchens – our number one priority is that our customers are delighted with them too. Over the last few years we have been lucky enough to visit some beautiful customer kitchens and take photos of our solid oak kitchen cabinets in their natural environment, and we wanted to share some of our favourites with you.

Pretty painted oak cabinets complete with central island unit

This oak kitchen mingles classic style with a sense of contemporary flair, thanks to its Shaker style kitchen unit doors and illuminating spotlights. Complemented with the gentle hues of Farrow & Ball’s ‘Elephant Breath’, this kitchen is both sophisticated and functional. We love the look of the island unit, which features a space-saving breakfast bar, tongue and groove end panels and a variety of cabinets that provide essential storage. Over the past few decades, kitchens have become a more social area in the home; indeed, in a square kitchen like this, an island provides a great focal point for the room – the design invites people to come in, gather round, and have a good chat.

Style meets utility in this light and airy kitchen

The crisp white of this kitchen is a breath of fresh air! The combination of white walls and oak cabinets finished in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Wimborne White’ creates a light, open feel within this traditional design. This customer’s full stave oak worktops really enhance the long length of the kitchen, working in harmony with the opposing direction of the beams to visually ‘stretch’ the room. Matching under cupboard plinths and features such as the SMEG fridge and statement clock also help to ensure that – despite its use of classic materials – the look of this kitchen is bang up to date. This sophisticated design is pure proof that a kitchen can be practical without compromising on style.

Contrasting cupboards and worktops are full of charm

There’s no denying it –this kitchen really is something special. The pretty shade of these solid oak cabinets (painted in ‘Blue Ground’ by Farrow & Ball) contrasts wonderfully with the full stave prime oak worktops, and generates a feeling of depth by breaking up the long lines of this kitchen. With undressed windows and clear glass ceiling lights, this room manages to feel uncluttered whilst marrying stylish modern elements with a cosy country vibe. We particularly like the glossy white Belfast sink, and the combination of textures – including steel, wood and glass –makes this kitchen visually dynamic, too!

Available in all colours, shapes and sizes, our oak kitchen cabinets are both affordable and stylish – it is no wonder that our kitchens have proved so popular. We also strive continually to improve our service, and as such hearing that customers are happy with our offering never ceases to delight us; we regularly receive photographs and testimonials from customers that we are thrilled to share with our followers on social media. If you have ordered one of our wooden kitchens, we would love you to share your snaps with us on either Facebook or Twitter!
