Cornice and Pelmet Collection Now Available!
The Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets team are delighted to announce the launch of our new cornice and pelmet range.
A cornice is a moulding which sits on top of wall units, while a pelmet runs underneath. Cornices and pelmets are the perfect way to finish your wall cabinets, concealing joins and merging frontals into the carcass in a seamless manner. Our cornices and pelmets are available in two designs – Shaker and Traditional – to match our frontals, and in all house finishes (natural sanded, lacquered, or handpainted in the Farrow & Ball® colour of your choosing). We offer a uniform 2700mm length across all designs and finishes, all at competitive prices.
Cornices and pelmets can be fitted retroactively or at the time of installation, creating a beautiful ‘complete’ look with very little effort. Here’s a few hints for successful installation:
- Position cornices and pelmets to cover doors. Test by taking a piece of cornice and position it on top of the wall unit to work out if you’d like any overhang, and if so how much.
- Where cornices and pelmets butt up to a wall, cut and pre-drill the rear sections first and then simply screw fix these lengths to the wall cabinet.
- Have a powered precision saw to hand if a mitre joint is needed (for internal or external corners). Once cut, lay these mitred lengths out and glue the joint faces then tape together until set. When ready pilot drill and screw fix to your units.
The new collection of cornices and pelmets will be launched on the website soon, but in the meantime please feel free to request more information or place an order by calling or emailing the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets team.
