5 Simple Steps to Receiving Your Solid Oak Kitchen Cabinets
Having placed your order, sat back and taken some time to relax before the big day, delivery of your new kitchen is now imminent! This means it’s also time to start planning for receiving delivery; to make sure you know what to check once the order has arrived; to decide where you will store your solid oak kitchen cabinets prior to installation; and to make sure that we have all the right information required to complete your delivery successfully.
Check for your order confirmation email and await our call to organise delivery
After placing your order, we will email you at the address provided to confirm all the details. At this point, thoroughly check through your order to make sure that all the components you require will be delivered together, and that we have the correct contact details for you.
We will then contact you directly to organise a suitable delivery date. Check our delivery details page to see if you live within our two-man delivery area, or whether you will be covered by a national courier.
Prepare for delivery of your solid oak kitchen components
On the day of your delivery, our two-man team will provide a two hour timeslot, and make a courtesy call thirty minutes prior to arrival.
After receiving this call, you should make yourself available to receive your delivery; choose a suitable ground floor location to store the goods; and ensure that the route from access point to this location is clear and free of obstructions. Please note that our delivery teams cannot carry goods up and down stairs.
If your order is being delivered by a one-man service, at least one physically able person should be available to assist the delivery driver (two people may be required for large orders).
Don’t forget to check your order at the point of delivery
After your order has been transferred from the courier to your point of delivery, we recommend checking to see if any packaging appears to be damaged. If you aren’t sure, then do open the products before signing for the delivery to check them over.
Also make sure that all the components on your original order are present – you might want to print off your original order and tick items off as they are unloaded.
Make sure you store your oak cabinets and hardwood worktops correctly
If you are not having your kitchen immediately installed, it is very important that all wooden components are correctly installed.
Both worktops and oak cabinets should be stored flat – not upright or leant against a wall. This is because changes in environmental temperature between your storage location and kitchen can vary and cause the timber to warp.
Multiple worktops should be stored flat with battens separating each one to allow air to circulate freely.
