A Guide to Waste Bins for Solid Oak Kitchens
After deciding upon the main components for a new kitchen, there are then many important accessories to select in order to keep your kitchen organised, tidy and free from clutter.
Traditionally, waste bins take the form of a free-standing bin, often with a swing lid or foot-pedal to provide access without touching the top. This may not suit the aesthetic of your solid oak kitchen, which is where a pull-out waste bin may be a better option for you – sitting behind one of our solid wood cabinet doors, this bin will blend into your kitchen perfectly.
At Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets we have recently introduced a new range of pull-out waste bins that fit perfectly into our solid oak base cabinets and provide ample space for waste disposal, whilst remaining out of sight so as to not spoil the design of your kitchen.
Our selection of pull-out waste bins fit perfectly into our solid oak base cabinets and provide ample space for waste disposal, whilst remaining out of sight so as to not spoil the design of your kitchen.
The Easy-Cargo waste bins from Hafele are designed to mount straight onto the bottom panel of any wooden kitchen cabinet at least 500mm wide, with a metal frame supporting the bin and mechanism that helps it slide smoothly out from your cabinet.
Unlike many bins, the lids on our Easy-Cargo waste bins are designed to stay in position when the cabinet slides out, providing adequate cover for the bin when not in use and easy access when needed.
Available in two sizes, these bins provide either 40L of storage in one bin measuring 319mm x 465mm, or a dual bin design featuring 19L and a 30L bins which measure 45mm x 430mm x 465mm in total. Each bin is manufactured from food-safe plastic, and can be removed for easy cleaning and disposal of waste.
Installation
Fitting these kitchen waste bins is easy and can be done by following the simple instructions below:
- Remove the carcass from the metal frame and position it in the centre of the desired base cabinet
- Using a pencil, mark out the four holes in the bottom of the frame
- Remove the frame and use a small drill bit to create small pilot holes for the four screws
- Re-position the frame into the base cabinet, screw the frame into place and replace the bin into the sliding mechanism
If you are considering visiting any of our Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinet showrooms to view our waste bins in situ, please do ring first to check if they are available to view in your local showroom.
