“Can I use your frontals on existing oak kitchens?” Question of the Week 07.02.16
“Can I use your frontals on existing oak kitchens?”
The first ‘Question of the Week’ this February was sent into us by Alannah in Canterbury. She wanted to know if our solid oak kitchen frontals could be retrofitted to her existing kitchen.
QUESTION:
“I want to update my kitchen by fitting new cabinet doors and wondered if your kitchen doors can be retrofitted to existing units?”
ANSWER:
Hi Alannah,
Thanks for taking the time to send in your query regarding our wood kitchen doors for oak kitchens. Changing frontals is an easy way to improve the style of your kitchen dramatically – you can bring it right up to date with just a few changes.
Our kitchen cabinet doors are available in a range of sizes that are designed to complement our own oak cabinets perfectly, but can also be used on alternative cabinets of standard sizes.
Start by measuring the cabinets in your kitchen to find out if they will accommodate our solid wood frontals – most standard base cabinets are 500mm or 600mm wide, and should be compatible with our 496mm or 596mm wide Shaker or Traditional doors. You may also want to choose replacement standard and pan drawer frontals, which are available in a wide variety of sizes and can be ordered to replace the fronts on your existing drawers. Additionally, we sell a variety of specialist doors, full height cabinet doors and glazed cabinet doors that can be used on other more unusual cabinets in your kitchen.
Once you know the sizes of the doors that you require, they can be ordered from us in either a sanded or lacquered finish, or pre-painted in any of the colours in Farrow & Ball’s extensive range.
Should you need to fill in any gaps between cabinet doors or in corners – or if you need to finish any other aspects of your kitchen – we also sell a wide variety of frontal accessories. On this page you’ll also find Blum BLUMOTION hinges, which are ideal for enhancing your doors with a soft-close finish, and can be purchased in packs of 2 or 3 – depending on your door size.
If you want to know more about our solid oak doors, we recommend reading our ‘How to Choose and Install Cabinet Doors’ information guide.
If you have any further queries, feel free to get in touch with us again via telephone or email.
Kind Regards,
The Team @ Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets
