SOLID WOOD KITCHEN CABINETS BLOG

Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets Featured in Your Home Magazine

Posted by admin on February 21, 2013 at 3:46 pm. Filed under: General

Another week, another magazine… any more attention and our heads will expand to enormous proportions!

This week it’s director Will Rees – one of the founders of Direct Online Services Ltd (the company behind the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets brand) – who is under the spotlight, giving advice on how to buy solid wood on a budget.

Great value products are a key priority for Your Home, as the magazine prides itself on delivering inspiration for home decorating in an accessible, inexpensive way – a perfect fit for the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets collection. Will was therefore thrilled to introduce solidwoodkitchencabinets.co.uk to the Your Home readers as an affordable online retailer, dispelling the myth that great quality solid wood furniture always costs the earth.

Covering everything from casserole dishes to splashbacks, this ‘Kitchen and Bathrooms’ edition is full of excellent tips, so don’t miss it – the magazine is now on sale. Look for the ‘Ask the kitchen experts’ section to check out Will’s account of the perks of solid wood kitchens (and how buying from us ensures a healthy, happy purse!)

Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets: Appearing Soon at a Newsagents Near You!

Posted by admin on February 15, 2013 at 2:28 pm. Filed under: General

If you’re as keen on design as we are and you live in the Gloucestershire region, you might well be familiar with the interiors page in the Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo supplement, Weekend. In fact, you might have even noticed our sister site, Worktop Express®, gracing the pages on a regular basis.

Worktop Express® have been sponsoring the interiors page since September and recently decided it was only fair to give us a go, too (well, they couldn’t hog the spotlight forever!)

The Saturday editions of The Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo are staples of the weekend’s reading in Gloucestershire, and the recently revamped Weekend magazine is no less important. It’s packed with great stuff such as lifestyle articles, interviews, and even a crossword. What more could a reader ask for?

So if you happen to be swinging by a regional newsagent and fancy checking out our ad (direct your eyes to the bottom of the interiors spread), don’t forget to pick up a copy of either newspaper this weekend – and pop into our showroom while you’re at it, we’re conveniently placed in Gloucester and are open from 10am-2pm on Saturdays. Come on down!

Timberrific Trays Coming Soon

Oak Cutlery Drawer

Our solid oak drawers are simply stunning – and we can’t help thinking that whatever goes inside should be equally pleasing to the eye.

Enter the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets cutlery tray! These solid timber cutlery holders are a brilliant and handy insert, helpfully combining practicality and style. And soon there will be even more choice: the ever-popular beech cutlery tray is to be joined by a solid oak option tray (with exotic timber versions also in development). Three different widths are available – 310mm, 410mm, 510mm – and each is designed to fit perfectly within its corresponding drawer option. Though that’s not to say that these attractive trays can only be used inside a drawer; we’ve also seen them used as table features or counter storage.

Keep an eye on the website for the launch of these fabulous new additions to the range, or get in touch for more information.

Logo Lowdown

Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets Logo

We’ve always had a big soft spot for the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets logo (designed by our very own creative team – well done, guys!). It’s just so pretty; so subtle; so…leafy.

We’re therefore chuffed to announce that, as of this week, the logo has been officially trademarked. The design has been certified and entered in the Register of Community Designs, and a marvellous certificate is now hanging in the Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets building to attest to that fact.

Just in case you’re interested, an RCD is ‘an exclusive right for the outward appearance of a product or part of it, resulting from the features (in particular, the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture and/or materials) of the product itself and/or its ornamentation.’

Gosh. Well done, little logo – that’s quite a feat. You’ve done us proud, and we’re more than proud to keep flying the verdant-and-now-exclusive Solid Wood Kitchens Cabinet banner!
