Solid Wood Kitchens in Mizzle: A Fresh, Fashionable Look for 2014
As ever, we begin 2014 with bated breath, wondering what colour experts Pantone have to predict. While their colour of the year, ‘Radiant Orchid’, (a vibrant fuchsia shade) might be a little bold for some kitchens, there are plenty of subtle shades in their 2014 palette that would look beautiful in your solid wood kitchen.
Hemlock, described by Pantone as a ‘summery ornamental green’, solidifies the trend that has been evident in many early 2014 interiors: green kitchens and natural looks are in. While Pantone recommend using this deep sage shade as an accent colour, paler, minty shades would provide the perfect base colour for a kitchen – particularly if you are incorporating solid oak cabinetry and can make the most of the ‘organic’ theme.
Enter one of our favourite Farrow & Ball shades – and staple of our own standard colour collection – Mizzle. This dreamy green takes its name from that light rain so reminiscent of the West Country; hints of blue and grey soften the colour, meaning that it is cool enough to be used as a ‘neutral’ within a scheme and punchy enough to add a touch of natural brightness.
Mizzle is the perfect complement to our solid oak kitchen doors. Simply select the hand painted option when ordering online and we will hand finish your doors to order. We welcome you to enjoy this fashionable, fresh shade this January!
