Creating Modern Solid Wood Kitchens Using Our Kitchen Style Tool
Our Kitchen Style Tool makes visualising your dream wooden kitchen easier than ever before. It allows you to choose from a range of cabinet finishes, worktops, doors, walls and floors in order to design stunning solid wood kitchens.
If you are looking to create a modern kitchen, these are the key design choices that can be made to give your new interior a contemporary feel:
When you first start your design on the Kitchen Style Tool, you will need to decide between Shaker or Traditional doors. In a modern kitchen, Shaker doors are by far the more appropriate design.
The defined lines and simplistic aesthetic lends itself to a variety of contemporary themes, whether lacquered or painted in one of Farrow & Ball’s trendy shades.
Once you have chosen the finish of your Shaker doors, it is time to accessorise them with a suitably modern set of knobs or handles.
We sell a wide range of ideal kitchen cabinet door handles, and whilst they are not all available to choose on the Kitchen Style Tool, we recommend picking either our steel bar handles or Metropolis bow handles to complement the contemporary feel.
A Choice of Worktops
Though you may think that granite or laminate surfaces are more commonly found in modern kitchens, we believe that solid wooden worktops are the perfect match for oak cabinets in a contemporary kitchen.
On the Kitchen Style Tool you can choose from a number of our most popular hardwood worktops, which are all well suited to modern kitchens.
Modern Flooring Options
Although we do not sell flooring at present, our Kitchen Style Tool allows you to pick from a variety of flooring choices to suit your kitchen design.
In a modern kitchen, tiled slate or vinyl flooring is a very popular option, but with the right choice of cabinets and other kitchen features, solid hardwood flooring can also look equally stylish and contemporary.
Finish with Funky Walls
Once you have picked all the other components on our Kitchen Style Tool, it’s time to pick the finish for your kitchen’s walls.
The Style Tool lets you choose from many exciting Farrow & Ball colours, including bright shades such as Babouche and Charlotte’s Locks, alongside more subtle – yet stylish – hues like Manor House Gray and Cabbage White. We have also included a contemporary wallpaper option.
Though our Kitchen Style Tool is very handy for inspiring your new kitchen’s design, we appreciate that nothing compares to seeing the components in person. We have a number of showrooms across the country, allowing you to see our cabinets, worktops and other products first-hand. To find your nearest one, visit our kitchen showrooms page.
