A Guide to Solid Oak Kitchen Cabinets & Cabinet Shelving
Whether you’re looking for solid oak carcasses to hold an inbuilt oven, a Belfast sink or bottles of your favourite tipple, we have a fantastic selection to choose from.
Our solid oak kitchen cabinets are constructed almost entirely from 18mm-thick European oak, which is sanded to a smooth grade and lacquered to create a hard-wearing, wipe-clean finish.
Only the rear of the cabinets is constructed from a 3.5mm thick piece of medium density fibreboard covered in a real oak foil. This material is chosen to allow the cabinet to safely expand and contract without splitting the rear panel.
We also provide four adjustable legs with each base cabinet up to 600mm wide and five legs with 800 and 1200mm cabinets. These legs include a special clip for affixing plinths to the front of the cabinets, whilst allowing them to be easily removed for cleaning.
All standard cabinets are provided with a single solid oak shelf as standard, and are pre-drilled to accommodate up to five shelves in 720mm tall cabinets and seven shelves in 900mm high cabinets. Our full height cabinets come with two shelves, whilst our full height appliance cabinets come with four – two fixed and two moveable. Each full height cabinet is pre-drilled to feature up to seven shelves, and depending on your requirements, extra holes can be drilled to make room for additional shelves.
