Using Lacquered Oak Panels to Finish Solid Oak Kitchens
At Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, all the cabinets in our collection are constructed from 18mm thick lacquered oak panels. Lacquering this hard-wearing European oak makes it water resistant and easy to clean, whilst also providing a unique aesthetic that is inherent to solid oak products.
Our wide range of cabinets make it easy to put together custom solid oak kitchens with minimal fuss, and we now also offer an assembly service to make kitchen installation even more straightforward.
The most recent addition to our range of cabinet accessories are 3000mm x 600mm x 18mm lacquered cabinet panels made to exactly the same specification as our cabinets. Whilst this may seem like a relatively simple accessory, it can be used in a variety of different ways to finish kitchens.
End Panels
Although we already offer a range of oak end panels in sanded, painted or lacquered finishes, the standard oak panels measure 27mm thick. If you are looking for a slimmer option that does not feature the tongue and groove design, our new lacquered oak cabinet panels are ideal.
Solid Oak Splashbacks
Glass and stainless steel are the most common materials used as splashbacks for kitchens, but thanks to the hard-wearing lacquer finish of these solid oak panels, a section could also be used as a splashback that is more in keeping with the design of a solid wood kitchen.
Skirting Boards
If you would like to continue the flow of solid wood throughout your kitchen, consider using slim sections of these solid oak lacquered panels as skirting boards. Oak is a resilient hardwood that is perfect for protective skirting boards, and can be easily painted to match walls if necessary.
Door Surrounds
Similar to skirting boards, these lacquered oak panels can be cut into sections suitable for creating a solid oak door surround, which is a perfect accessory for solid wood doors and for breaking up the wall’s dominant colour.
Window Sills
With the addition of a smooth profile edge, our oak lacquered panels can be used to make beautiful window sills – ideal for wooden kitchens. The lacquered surface is resilient to moisture and easy to clean, and can be firmly held in place simply using silicone adhesive.
Other Kitchen Trim
There are many other areas of the kitchen that you might decide to adorn with additional solid wood trim in order to create a feeling of continuity in the kitchen’s design. Our oak lacquered panels are created from high-quality European timber that can easily be worked into whatever shape you require.
