Oak Floating Shelves
Real wood shelving is a characterful addition to any home or office, and is a particularly impressive addition in our beautiful solid wood kitchens! Our oak floating shelves create a magnificent floating effect and — to save you time and hassle — come pre-drilled and ready to mount with the specialist 'invisible' fixings supplied.
Our highly-trained team are equipped with extensive knowledge of timber and the latest wood-cutting technology. We produce these oak shelves with maximum precision, before meticulously sanding the surface to a smooth finish and applying a coating of oil that gives a beautiful and consistent appearance.
Our floating solid oak shelves are available in two thicknesses: 30mm for a more streamlined look or 40mm for a slightly chunkier appearance. Both options are provided with a square edge profile that is perfect for the contemporary design of floating shelving.
Our floating shelves come with all the fittings required to allow for straightforward installation.
All of our oak floating shelves are supplied with the quantity of 'invisible' brackets required to support their weight: two brackets for 300mm and 600mm shelves; three for 900mm and 1200mm shelves; and four for the 1500mm-long variant.
Each of these impressive shelves is constructed using 40mm staves, identical to those used to produce our solid oak worktops. These staves are finger-jointed and carefully glued under high pressure. As solid oak is a heavy natural material, we advise mounting these shelves onto a stone wall; if yours is a partition wall, we suggest fixing the brackets directly into the studs to ensure adequate support.
Our solid oak shelves sometimes feature very small knots; though these are rare, they serve to enhance the innate charm of this natural product.
