Walnut Floating Shelves

Real walnut is incredibly attractive and noted for its striking variation in colour, achieved by taking sections of wood from the pale sapwood and dark heartwood of the tree. Our walnut floating shelves exhibit this characterful contrast to stunning effect. For your convenience, these shelves come pre-drilled and ready for installation using the specialist fixings provided.

Our exceptional team are equipped with years of experience working with wood, and use the latest innovations in wood cutting to produce these walnut shelves with maximum precision. Once the wood has been cut to size, the shelves are scrupulously sanded and coated in three layers of protective oil, to preserve and nourish the beautiful grain of the wood.

Our floating solid walnut shelves come with a beautiful square edge profile that complements the modern aesthetic of floating shelving.

Our floating shelves come with all the fittings required to allow for straightforward installation.

Just like our solid walnut worktops, these impressive shelves are made from a series of 40mm staves, which are finger-jointed and high-pressure glued for maximum strength. All of our floating walnut shelves are provided with the number of specialist brackets required to support their weight: two brackets for 300mm and 600mm shelves; three for 900mm and 1200mm shelves; and four for the 1500mm shelves. These supports are hidden once the shelving is installed.

As solid walnut is relatively heavy, we recommend fixing the supports onto a stone or brick wall. If you have a stud partition wall, we advise attaching the brackets to the timber studs themselves to ensure the weight of the shelf is adequately supported.

In addition to their attractive natural grain pattern, wooden shelves can sometimes showcase natural characteristics such as small knots or splits. These are uncommon, but only serve to enhance the innate beauty of the wood.
