How to Design Great Value Oak Kitchens
If you are designing a new kitchen but have limited funds available, this need not be a barrier to having a dream wooden kitchen. By choosing the right providers, having a good eye for design and either fitting the kitchen yourself or employing a local fitter, you can save a great deal on oak kitchens when compared to the prices offered by high street kitchen retailers.
Compare Price & Quality
We have worked tirelessly to offer an all-encompassing range that fits the requirement of any kitchen – no matter the shape or style. As well as cabinets, we also offer matching oak kitchen doors and drawer fronts with handles to finish them in style; wooden worktops to provide a hard-wearing and elegant surface; and a variety of other accessories including kitchen wirework to keep your new kitchen organised and make the most of all the space available.
All of these kitchen components are available at incredibly low prices, without any compromise on quality. If you would like to see an example of how the price of a kitchen created with our furnishings compares to alternatives from other retailers, then please visit our solid oak kitchen price comparison page.
Put Your Design Skills to the Test
Designing your own kitchen might seem like a very daunting task, but if you are capable of making accurate measurements and have an eye for design, it can be a very rewarding experience, whilst also saving you a considerable amount.
To visualise your ideas, you can either use one of the software suits available for kitchen design, or draw it by hand on graph paper. To accurately measure the size of your room, we recommend using laser measuring devices, which are available from around £25.
If you need further inspiration, our website has a vast number of information guides to assist in designing a kitchen. Read the following guides to learn more:

Consider Pre-Assembled Cabinets
To make it even easier to put together your new solid oak kitchen, we now offer an assembly service.
Our skilled team can put together your chosen cabinets prior to delivery for just £15 per cabinet (or £20 if ordered with frontals or drawers), which means they then only need affixing to walls, worktops and each other to create your new kitchen – just like giant Lego!
Ordering pre-assembled cabinets saves on both time and money, as you will not need to pay for many days of kitchen fitting, and could install your own kitchen in just a matter of hours. This service is detailed in full in our recent Assembly Service Information Guide.
Order Kitchen Samples First
Sometimes it can be very difficult to pick the right combination of worktops and cabinet frontals, which is why we recommend purchasing kitchen samples before placing your order in full.
We offer kitchen door samples which are miniature versions of our full-size kitchen doors in either sanded, lacquered or painted finishes for just £20 including delivery.
If you would like to see the quality of our kitchen cabinets, you can purchase kitchen cabinet panel samples. These samples are cut from the same 18mm thick European oak panels as our cabinets, and have a hard-wearing lacquered finish. Give them a try for just £5 including delivery.
Finally, you can order worktop samples in our range for only £5 including delivery. Choose from standard, Deluxe or full stave timbers; each is oiled on one side to provide a good representation of the finished product.
Whilst ordering samples may require an initial outlay, if you go on to purchase a kitchen from us the cost of your samples can be refunded – so don’t hesitate to ‘try before you buy’!
