Choosing Worktops for Solid Oak Kitchens: Standard, Deluxe or Full Stave
Having recently introduced some new choices to our collection of high-quality wooden kitchen worktops, we thought it about time that we give you some more details on the exact differences between our standard, Deluxe and full stave worktops.
There are no rules set in stone that dictate which worktops are recommended for solid oak kitchens, as the choice is largely down to personal preference. With the following guidance we hope you will be able to make an informed choice when the time comes to place to your order.
Standard Wood Worktops
Our standard worktops may not be as luxurious as the other options in our range, but they are still made from excellent quality timber. Each worktop is constructed from a number of finger-jointed 40mm wide staves that create an attractive ‘butcher block’ appearance; some of our customers prefer the additional character this variation in stave length brings to a kitchen surface.
There are 15 standard worktops in our range, including some ‘Prime’ worktop choices which are constructed from timber with more consistent colour and less natural variation; prices start at £75.
Deluxe Solid Wood Worktops
If you like the ‘butcher block’ formation of our finger-jointed worktops, but want a surface that displays more of the timber’s natural character, then we recommend our Deluxe worktops.
Each Deluxe worktop in our range is constructed from a selection of wider staves (up to 90mm wide) that really showcase the colour and grain of each timber.
Deluxe worktops start at £175 and are currently available in oak, Prime Oak, iroko, walnut, black American walnut and zebrano timbers.
Full Stave Wooden Worktops
The most opulent wooden worktop choice for any kitchen is a full stave worktops. Available in some of the most popular timbers in our range, our full stave worktops feature a small number of staves up to 90mm that run the entire length of the worktop.
This long unbroken expanse of timber is the most lavish way to experience the natural beauty of a wood worktop and so – unsurprisingly – is our most exclusive choice.
Available in oak, Prime oak, iroko, black American walnut, maple, zebrano, wenge and ash, with prices starting at £230.
If you would like to see any of the worktops in our range, then we recommend taking advantage of our solid wooden worktops sample service. Standard, Deluxe and full stave samples are available, and are all priced at only £5 including delivery.
If after receiving your sample you then decide to place an order, the price of the sample will be deducted from the cost. Simply mention it to one of our advisers when placing your order.
